A brother and sister have teamed up to climb Africa’s highest mountain for charity.
Teresa Page, 33 and brother Simon, 29, will have the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in their sights next June.
Teresa, who lives in Kennington, and Simon, from Maidstone, are joining a team raising cash for the cerebral palsy charity Scope.
They will be joining 40 other people from across the UK taking part in the trek.
Teresa, who works as a carer, said: “We are taking this challenge very seriously and don’t want to let our sponsors down”.
The pair are training three times a week and have each pledged to raise £3,250 for Scope.
Teresa added: “They are one of the largest disability charities in the UK and we want to support their work with adults and children with cerebral palsy.”
Teresa has encouraged fellow members of the pole dancing fitness class she attends each week at Ashford’s Fitness First gym to pose for photographs for pictures for a calendar to boost their fund-raising efforts.
She is hoping to encourage more businesses in Ashford to sponsor the calendar and there are seven spaces left.
