An Edenbridge man suspected of several burglaries in the Ashford area has been released by police.

Officers from Kent Police Roads Policing Unit pulled over a 23-year-old in Chart Road, Ashford at around 2am on Sunday.

He was later arrested on suspicion of three burglaries in Petham, Egerton and Woodchuch.

The suspect was also arrested over the theft of number plates and for going equipped to steal.

He has been released while police continue with their enquiries.
