A car has been found burned out and flipped over in Ashford .
The wreck of the hatchback was first discovered by walkers near the Singleton Environment Centre.
On Sunday it was left on the remains of its wheels on a pathway into the woods near the centre, which lies up the hill from the John Wesley school.
Residents were left doubly confused when on Monday the shell of a car – a Ford Fiesta – had ended up on its roof adjacent to the path.
One neighbour, who asked to remain nameless, said: "I can only guess it was reversed in from the road there; it still smelt of burning."
In a discussion on Facebook, one man asked: "Who the heck turned that over? It needs shifting quickly!"
Another commented: "It was still in position when we walked past this morning.
"I know it was an obstruction, but moving it was dangerous too."
A police spokesman said that they had no record of the discovery of the vehicle on file.
