Should you have an extra day off to celebrate St George's Day? A Kent boss thinks so.

He gave his staff an extra day's holiday on Wednesday and has urged other bosses to follow his lead in the future.

Tim Allard, chairman of Ashford cavity insulation specialists Lion Insulation, told his 40 strong workforce they could all stay home.

It was the second year running that Mr Allard has awarded his staff a bonus holiday because he is so passionate that England should celebrate its national day on April 23. He wants it to become an official bank holiday.
