The main road through the village of Wye was shut this morning after a camper van crashed into a listed house.

Police were forced to close the High Street after the vehicle hit the corner of the former Flying Horse Inn at the Green about 10.20am today. The road was closed for two hours.

Officers were still on the scene as surveyors arrived to check the historic Grade II* listed building.

A recovery vehicle was seen removing the vehicle - leaving a pile of bricks and a crumbling wall near the front door.
