A parked car caught fire nine hours after it was last used.
Fire crews were called to Lambden Road, in Pluckley at about 9.30pm last night to a report a Peugeot 206 was on fire.
Two crews were sent from Ashford and Lenham.
It is believed an electrical fault started the blaze, and the front of the vehicle was badly damaged by the flames.
Watch manager Clive Douglas, from Ashford station, said: "The car was parked in a drive-way.
"It had been parked there for about nine hours.
"It was parked close to the house but the owner was quick with the hose pipe and kept it at bay until we arrived.
"The front of the car was badly burnt."
