A car was engulfed by flames this morning.

The vehicle has been left completely gutted after it caught fire in Sandyhurst Lane, at the junction that meets Faversham Road, in Kennington, Ashford.

The driver of the car pulled over after the blaze started in the engine and immediately called 999.

Fire crews arrived in the road just before 9am and spent 45 minutes tackling the flames.

No one was believed injured following the fire.

Crews believe the fire started in the engine.
