Catriona has brains as well as beauty

Twenty-year-old Catriona Robinson took time off her degree course in international relations to win the Miss Ashford Galaxy 2009 title.

She said: “I’m a healthy size 12 and could not be further from the stereotypical 'size zero’ no brains girl.

“I love my curves and want to promote confidence in your own body to women of all ages.”

As a teenager she was involved in the Kent Youth County Council, the UK Youth Parliament and the Connexions Kent and Medway Youth Board.

She said: “At 14 I had the opportunity to work at 10 Downing Street. I appeared on television with Tony Blair as one of only 25 young people who were offered the chance of a lifetime to have their say with the PM.”

Catriona will represent Ashford at the UK finals of the Miss UK Galaxy 2009 competition on March 29 in Manchester.

The winner will compete for the world title in Florida.
