Cathy Streeter returns to Ashford town centre on Friday to again record memories for her latest unusual challenge.

The Ashford based artist, whose latest project was drawing cattle shapes on the walls of the old Elwick Road market site, has now been funded for a study of the alleys and lanes in the heart of the town that will eventually also benefit from her artistic talents.

Called Hidden Passages she wants to discuss stories of the ancient and present rights of way that may have been forgotten over the decades.

She will be in The George Hotel from 10am - 1pm on Friday to listen and record stories.

She said: “It is a fascinating historical project with many unknown facts. Not many realise there is a public right of passage through The George Hotel from the High Street to Park Street and to prove it someone once drove a flock of geese through the pub”.
