Littlestone Golf Club members Chris Reynolds and Andrew Stracey helped England Seniors to win the European Men’s Team Championship for the first time.

In the final, held at Golf Club Patriziale in Ascona, Switzerland, England beat Sweden 3-2 after overcoming defending champions Ireland in the semi-finals.

Against Ireland, England won the foursomes through Reynolds and Doug Arnold, but after losing the top two singles, new cap Stracey (at the 19th) and Geoff King (3&2) tipped the match England’s way.

Then, in the final, Reynolds (pictured) and Arnold (3&2) gave England an early lead in the foursomes, but with two singles again being lost, it was left to Philip Slater (3&2) and King (2&1) to see England to the title.
