A cinema is bucking the recession trade by investing in a 3D screen and expanding its total screen count.
Cineworld, at Eureka Park in Ashford, is showing its first films in three-dimensional format this week and by next year plans to increase its total screens from 12 to 15.
The first films being shown in 3D are Bolt and My Bloody Valentine. Others will be Toy Story and Ice Age three when they are released in the format later in the year.
Manager Andy Grove said: “Last year we also changed screens to digital. The cinema trade is still doing well despite the recession.
“People still want some time out of their homes.”
