A number of pupils at a secondary school have been told to self-isolate after after a confirmed case of coronavirus.
The North School in Ashford confirmed that it has had a "single case" of Covid-19.
In a letter to parents seen by KentOnline, head teacher Anna Lawrence said: "We have been advised by Public Health England (PHE) that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school.
"We know that you might find this concerning but are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with PHE.
"The small number of members of the school community who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying home for 14 days.
"The school remains open and your child should attend if they remain well."
It is not known how many pupils have been sent home, or in what year.
