You have given a mixed reaction after driving instructor Derek Goodwin criticised road signs for being confusing.
Mr Goodwin, chairman of the Ashford Driving Instructors’ Association, says misleading or missing signs are causing confusion and potential danger for drivers.
Responding on our Speak Out, Simon Brown, of Hythe Road, agrees with him.
He says signs for Brenzett off the M20 disappear once you get to the junction 10 roundabout. And the village is signposted in both directions on the Ashford Road roundabout.
He also points out that some international station signs are still covered over, 14 years after the station was opened.
Sarah Jane, from Rochester, says she has never been back to Ashford since coming to the town and getting lost - “I never found what I wanted and gave up and went somewhere else.”
Lost? Blame confusing road signs - see original story
Jeff Smith, of Ashford, says one of the main problem areas is Station Bridge which he describes as having no road markings and leading to “roadwork city”.
But Matthew Pullen, while agreeing that junction 10 of the M20 is bad, says people do not read signs properly.
“I do a lot of deliveries in Ashford - one day I fear I will hit someone,” he says.
David Playfair, of Godinton Park, Ashford, takes issue with Mr Goodwin and says the road signs are clear and give a fair indication of the layout.
Of the Kingsnorth Road sign, he says it is “incorrect but hardly confusing as you only have two options.”
And L. Goldsack, of Ashford, challenges Mr Goodwin’s view that “ahead in right lane” at Mace Lane no longer applies.
“It has applied for the 25 years I’ve lived in Ashford and serves to stop traffic queuing up Hythe Road from blocking the industrial estate,” he says.
