Traffic was building on the M20 after a crash on a slip road.
Police were at the scene of the incident at junction 10 for Ashford on the coast bound carriageway.
Drivers were asked to be aware of traffic officers on the scene.
The accident was moved on to the hard shoulder just before 8pm and the lanes were reopened.
