Crash outside Waitrose in Repton Avenue, Ashford sees three people taken to William Harvey Hospital and man arrested

A crash which saw three people taken to hospital and one man arrested sparked a heavy emergency response.

Two cars collided in Repton Avenue, Ashford shortly after 10pm last night (September 3).

The incident happened at the junction with Templar Way near the Drovers Roundabout.

Images sent to KentOnline show a blue Renault Clio and a white Toyota Auris were involved in the collision outside Waitrose supermarket.

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: "Officers attended and the road was closed while the incident was responded to.

"The road was reopened at about 12.30am.

"A man arrested on suspicion of drink-driving has since been released, pending further inquiries."

Although no serious injuries were reported, paramedics say three people were taken to the William Harvey Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, two fire engines were also called to the scene before leaving shortly after 11pm.
