THE parents of a teenager killed in a car crash have spoken about their popular and bubbly daughter who they say was always happy and loved life.

Daisy Washington, 14, died along with 17-year-old Joe Bunce, from Harrietsham, near Maidstone, in an accident on the A20 at Lenham, on Wednesday last week.

Daisy's parents, Joe and Karen Washington, of Repton Manor Road, Ashford, say they have been inundated with letters and cards from well-wishers following the tragedy.

The couple said their daughter, a Year 10 pupil at Swadelands School in Lenham had many friends.

“She left people smiling,” said Mr Washington. “She was always playing little tricks on people.”

As well as being a keen skier, Daisy was captain of her school’s netball team and a regular face at Homelands golf club in Kingsnorth, Ashford, where she held the record for the longest drive, beating her male counterparts.

She swam for Ashford when she was younger, and had been a member of Ashford Rugby Club.
