Folkestone coastguard crews were called to help paramedics rescue a man who had slipped on rocks at Sunny Sands near Folkestone harbour.

They arrived on the scene at around 8.15pm.

The 45-year-old man had suffered head and leg injuries, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

There was fog in the area at the time and it is thought emergency services were called when his cries for help were heard.

Emergency teams left at 9.45pm.
