A fire was extinguished about an hour after it broke out at a second-floor flat.

Emergency services were called to Grampion Close, Ashford, after a neighbour reported smoke coming from the property at about 8.25pm last night.

Two fire engines arrived soon afterwards.

They left the scene just after 9.40pm.

A Red Cross vehicle was also requested to provide emotional support to residents.
