Olympic gold medallist Jamie Staff will receive his MBE at Buckingham Palace tomorrow.
The Beijing Games champion, originally from Ashford, will meet the Queen in the afternoon to be given his award for services to sport.
Mr Staff, 36, will travel to the Palace with his wife Malia and parents Christine and Alan, from Brabourne Lees.
Christine Staff said: "We are all very excited about this.
"Jamie has worked hard and he has waited months to receive his honour."
Mr Staff, who now lives in Manchester, won gold in the men’s team sprint in last summer’s Olympics.
His honour was announced in the New Year Honours List when he said he was "over the moon."
Mr Staff, who now has three-year-old twins, attended Smeeth Primary School and The North School in Ashford.
He has regularly returned to Ashford, last month making a guest appearance at the Ashford Derailleurs Cycling Club taster day at his former secondary school.
