A cyclist was taken to hospital last night after he fell off his bike and hit his head in Ashford.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital as a precaution following the incident in Newtown Road at 6pm.

It was reported the man was injured when his head hit the pavement.

A paramedic car and ambulance were sent to the scene to check the man over.

But it is not believed any cars were involved in the incident.
