An enraged dog walker erected a furious sign addressed to “scumbag” flytippers after a pile of manure was dumped at the entrance to a beauty spot.
The sign was stuck into the steaming pile of horse dung left near Sugarloaf and Orlestone to the south of Ashford, where residents regularly report flytipping.
Rubbish in builders bags and the manure appeared along the road in Birchett Lane and Capel Road last week, prompting the angry sign from the dog walker.
It read: “Dear Mr Scumbag, please would you stop dumping your c*** in our woods and take it to the tip like us normal folk! Kind regards, one p***** off dog walker.”
The sign was spotted by village resident Ted Relf who took a photograph of the mess. He said: “I’ve been taking pictures there before of the rubbish dumped there.
“It was dumped in Capel Road in the middle of Sugarloaf and there were some spread across the area further away on the road with a bid builder’s bag full of rubbish.
“I thought the sign was a clever idea. I think we need more people to invest in cameras to catch the people doing it, and we also need people to report it because that’s what brings it to people’s attention.
“If people knew how much it costs to clear up the amount of rubbish in certain areas, they might start being a little more forthcoming with the information to stop it.”
