Police and paramedics were called to dual carriageway after a lorry crashed with three cars this morning.

The accident happened on the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road approaching the Orbital Park roundabout in Ashford.

A police spokesman said officers were called at 8.40am, and said that a woman has been injured.

Fire crews helped to release the woman, who was trapped in the car. They used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof and the woman was passed into the care of the ambulance service.

Motorists faced delays on nearby roads such as the A2042.

The road reopened just before midday.
