Paramedics and police rush to Canterbury Road, Ashford, after motorbike crash

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital with back injuries after a motorbike crash.

Police and paramedics rushed to Canterbury Road, between Albert Road and Magazine Road at 11am.

Emergency crews were called after the two vehicle collision near Mount Zion Baptist Church, involving a Renault Grand Scenic and a Kawasaki motorbike.

A SECAmb spokesman said the man was assessed and treated at the scene for injuries including back pain before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

A police spokesman added that his injuries were not thought to be serious.

The road was shut in both directions but has since reopened.
