Motorists were facing delays on a major route as firefighters were called after a car went up in flames.
Crews were called just before 8am to reports of a vehicle alight on Canterbury Road in Charing, Ashford.
Two fire engines were sent to the incident.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
The route was partially blocked and there was slow traffic as a result.
The blaze had been put out approximately 25 minutes after firefighters arrived.
A police spokesperson added officers also attended and helped to clear the road.
No serious injuries were reported.
The ambulance service has also been contacted for comment.
