One lane of the M20 was closed this afternoon following a crash.

It is believed a car and van collided on the London-bound carriageway between junctions 9 and 8.

Police, ambulance crews and Highways England were all called to the motorway.

Drivers were warned to approach with caution and expect delays.

A spokesman for the police said: "We received a report of a collision involving a black Mercedes at 11.57am.

"Officers attended the scene on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 by Junction 9. No injuries reported."

A spokesman for the ambulance service confirmed paramedics attended shortly after 12pm but said no one required hospital treatment.
