Police charge Ashford distraction burglary suspects

Police have charged a woman with a distraction burglary after a purse was stolen from a resident’s home.

Christine Gould, of Brigadier Gardens in the Repton Manor estate, was arrested in connection with the reported theft at a house in Essetford Road in South Ashford on Thursday, May 18.

She was arrested along with Aaron Spendley, of no fixed address, on Friday, May 26. The duo, both aged 31, were also charged with handling a stolen Chevrolet and shoplifting.

Spendley was also charged with driving without a licence or insurance and with stealing cash from a bank card.

Both have been remanded in custody and will before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, June 26.
