A dog has died after a fire in a kitchen thought to have been caused by items mistakenly left on a hob.
Firefighters were called to Manorfield, in Singleton, Ashford, just after 9am today.
One fire engine was sent and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
Sadly, a dog died at the scene, a fire service spokesman confirmed.
Smoke had to be cleared with a high-pressure fan.
Firefighters believe the blaze started accidentally after items were left on the kitchen hob.
