Drivers continue to face long delays following a vehicle fire next to a busy motorway junction.
Motorists along the A2070, near Junction 10a of the M20 in Sevington, Ashford have been experiencing congestion since around 10am.
It is causing traffic on the roundabout to be backed up, with two lanes of the A2070 southbound closed, between the junctions with the M20 and the A2042.
The Junction 10a off slip on the M20 has also shut.
Images sent to KentOnline show a number of vehicles stuck on the roundabout headed towards the A2070.
Cars are also facing delays coming from Hythe Road towards the roundabout.
Meanwhile, multiple lorries trying to access the Sevington Inland Border Facility - next to Junction 10A - are also stuck in the congestion.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed delays are due to a vehicle being on fire at the entrance to the facility.
A spokeswoman said: “We were called at 9.59am to reports of a vehicle fire on the A2070 Sevington, Ashford.
“Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets and compressed air foam to extinguish the flames from the car and the grass it had also spread to.
“No injuries were reported and the cause is not yet known, but is believed to be accidental.”
National Highways has confirmed traffic conditions are not expected to return to normal until around 8.45pm.
Meanwhile, traffic specialists Inrix add the road may need resurfacing following the blaze.
