A dual carriageway was blocked as a car crashed into trees at the side of the road.

Police closed one lane on the westbound A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road in Ashford, near the Flanders Field Roundabout.

Witnesses say one car ended up in the trees just after the slip road for Park Farm.

Police confirmed the accident involved a car and a van and happened at about 11.20am.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene but it is understood nobody was injured.
