Folkestone Invicta suffered a semi-final play-off defeat to Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night.
Neil Cugley's side were beaten 2-1 at Champion Hill to put an end to any hopes of a return back to the Ryman League Premier Division.
Invicta's leading scorer Stuart King (pictured) netted his 27th goal of the season but the 85th minute goal came too late to change the course of the game.
Folkestone went into the match having won their last six Division 1 South games and moments before falling a goal behind they nearly took the lead, as Liam Dickson sent a shot agonisingly wide.
The hosts went ahead just before the half hour as Kevin James' free-kick could only be parried by keeper Jack Delo and Ray Powell tapped in from close-range.
With an hour gone the home keeper was forced into making a save from Dickson and the same player had a volley deflected over moments later.
Folkestone's hopes were rocked when eight minutes from time Powell smashed home a cross to put Dulwich 2-0 ahead.
Three minutes later King drove a shot into the bottom corner to halve the deficit and despite a couple of nervy moments in the home box in the dying moments Folkestone couldn't level.
