A person hit by a train at Ashford International has been pronounced dead at the scene.
Tonight's incident has caused travel chaos across the network.
It was confirmed just after 11pm that the person hit by the train had been killed.
Platforms 4, 5 and 6 were all out of use while the incident was dealt with, but lines reopened at 10.30pm.
High Speed trains towards Ashford were not be able to run from Ebbsfleet international to Ashford.
A South Eastern spokesman said at 10.30pm that lines had reopened and trains were able to move again but there would be severe delays.
He added there was 'extremely limited availability' of replacement buses.
A statement said: "The line has now re-opened, however, services will continue to be disrupted by up to 60 minutes so please check before you travel.
"Anyone whose journey has been delayed by 30 minutes or more can claim compensation through our delay repay scheme and we'd urge them to please do so."
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said it was reported to them at 7.54pm that a person was on the tracks: "The incident is currently being treated as non suspicious. Medics from the Kent ambulance service also attended but the person was pronounced deceased at the scene."
Officers are informing next of kin and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
