A PERVERT equestrian teacher is facing sentence after admitting sexually abusing two boys.

John Bunyan pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to seven charges of indecent assault on the victims, who were aged 16 to 18.

The 58-year-old riding instructor, of Findon, Shadoxhurst, near Ashford, will be sentenced on May 4.

A Kent Police spokesman said boys learned how to showjump and compete in equestrian competitions.

“He was in a position of trust, acting as mentor and parental figure, when he sexually abused them over a period of years,” said the spokesman. “The offences date back to 1992.”

Det Con Kath Way said: “I would like to thank the victims and witnesses in this case for their bravery and fortitude in bringing this man to justice.”

She said that the inquiry took 18 months to complete and involved witnesses coming from far afield to give evidence.
