Then as Taylor made her way to the stage Adele said to her: "You look lovely, happy birthday."
After Taylor arrived on stage, the singer gave her a hug.
She asked Taylor where she was from and the teenager replied loudly: "Ashford in Kent" - to which the audience cheered.
Adele said to someone in the audience: "Are you filming, mum?"
As thousands cheered she invited Taylor to take a selfie of the two of them together.
Adele then asked Taylor to check whether the picture was okay.

The singer looked at the mobile phone the selfie had been taken on, seemed to think she could do better so took her own selfie of the smiling duo.
Taylor is understood to have been at the concert as a birthday treat with members of her family.
Taylor is believed to work in an Ashford supermarket.
Adele is currently on a UK tour and is performing at the O2 this week.
It's not the first time a fan from Kent has been invited to share the limelight with the award-winning singer at the O2. Jasmine Craigen, 12, from Deal was invited on to the stage on Friday by Adele after a banner the girl was holding during the show caught the singer's attention.
