Fire crews were called to a large patch of woodland alight.

Five fire engines attended Hatch Deer Park in Smeeth just before 5pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and no casualties were reported.

At about 6pm residents said fire engines were still at The Ridgeway - the road that the deer park is situated off.

They reported seeing no smoke but could see that the horses were out.

Crews extinguished the flames before damping down any remaining hotspots by 6.20pm.
