Firefighters were called to Ashford's Memorial Gardens after reports of a fire.
When crews arrived just before 7pm they discovered a bin alight.
They spent just 15 minutes tackling the flames at the landscaped gardens off Church Road, which is where the town's Remembrance Day ceremonies take place.
