Fire crews flocked to a trapped pigeon's aid at lunchtime today.
The bird got its feathers in a ruffle after getting stuck in netting on the roof of a building in Tufton Street, Ashford.
A member of the public called firefighters at 12.02pm and one engine and a car was sent to help the defenceless animal.
Crews used a ladder to gain access to a flat roof to rescue the bird, which was caught in the net.
A witness said: "The fire service were on the scene for around 10 minutes. A ladder plus some other equipment was taken into the alleyway."
Although they attended this time, a spokesman for the service said they usually advise people to call the RSPCA for concerns regarding animals.
If they are needed, the charity will then call fire crews.
This is not the first time Ashford's firefighters have assisted in the rescue of a pigeon.
In 2014, they were called to St John’s Lane in the town after a bird got caught in some netting.
