Firefighters rescued an unconscious man after fire broke out in a block of flats in Folkestone last night (Thursday).

Firemen wearing breathing apparatus brought the man out of his second floor flat.

Residents of Pavilion Court in Marine Terrace were evacuated while two fire crews from Folkestone and another from Hythe dealt with the incident.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
