Firefighters battled a blaze in the early hours of this morning which left some homes without power.

The fire broke out at an electrical sub-station close to the old MFI off Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford.

Crews from Ashford fire station arrived at the scene at about 1.15am this morning.

A special foam was used to protect the former MFI building though the fire completely destroyed the electrical sub-station.
The cause is believed to be accidental.
