Fire broke out in the bedroom of a home this afternoon.

Two fire crews were called to the address in Fostall Green, Ashford, just after 3pm.

Crews wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause is believed to be accidental.

The fire service left just after 6pm.

It is understood there was also an unrelated road accident in nearby Brookfield Road this evening.

No further details about the crash were available from the emergency services.
