Four people had to be rescued after being stuck in a lift in an office block.

Firefighters were called after the workers were trapped at Ashford’s International House for up to 15 minutes, early yesterday evening.

The three men and one women ended up between the second and third floor of the Dover Place building and were released by firefighters after raising the alarm.

Ashford station firefighter Steve Coulson said: “We were able to lower the lift and open the doors with keys.

“They were obviously relieved to get out but they were not stressed by what happened.

“We don’t yet know what caused the lift to get stuck.”
