Firefighters took on a large barn blaze.

They were called to the incident at the large storage barn in West Brabourne, Ashford, at 6pm yesterday.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Due to the high volume of smoke when the initial crews arrived the additional fire crews and a bulk water unit was called onto the scene to provide water.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with hose reel jets."

Crews were at the scene until 8.55pm.
