Fives success

The Ashford Super Fives Football League celebrated their 25th anniversary in style at their annual awards night, held this year at the Bowling Green.

Special guest was Ashford's former England and Liverpool defender Neil 'Razor' Ruddock.

There were also awards to players and officials involved with the league for the last 25 years including chairman John Fenning, secretary Ray Knowler, Ashford Spartans manager Alan Murton and player/manager Bill English.

Inter's Liam Whiting was chosen as the league's Footballer of the Year from Robbie Ovenden (Locomotive) and Aldington's Alex Williams.

Whiting was also Monday League player of the season.
