Firefighters tackled a huge fire spreading through a cornfield this afternoon.
Large plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the field off Waterditch Lane in Charing at 1.30pm.
Crews arrived to find flames rapidly spreading through approximately five hectares of standing cornfield.
Two fire engines and a fire-fogging unit were sent to the scene and firefighters used a hose reel jet, beaters and flexi-packs to tackle the blaze.
Crews were in attendance for more than an hour.
The cause is believed to be accidental.
There was another cornfield fire in Challock yesterday.
