Low lying areas along the banks of the River Stour in Ashford on flood watch

A warning that the River Stour in Ashford could flood on Friday afternoon has been issued by the Environment Agency.

The alert was issued after Kent was again battered by storm force winds and hit by torrential rain overnight.

And the Environment Agency is warning there's plenty more bad weather to come again this weekend with further storms expected to lash the county on Sunday and Monday.

The village of Yalding, near Maidstone was yet again affected by flooding overnight, with river levels there peaking around midnight.

The Environment Agency said six properties (all thought to be empty) have been flooded.

There are still two flood warnings in place for the River Medway and Beult.
