Neil Cugley blamed two refereeing decisions after Folkestone earned only one point from two Easter derbies put a dent in their Ryman League, Division 1 South play-off hopes
Boss Cugley was angry about the decision leading to Hythe’s equaliser at Cheriton Road on Easter Monday and also claimed Whitstable’s second goal was offside in the 2-1 defeat at Belmont two days earlier – only Invicta’s second reverse in 13 games this year.
He said: "The referee on Monday was an absolute disgrace and lost us two points. Liam Friend has made a great header and he gives a free-kick.
Hythe were never going to score any other way and it was frustrating. I am fed up and disappointed, after getting a poor decision like that.
"Whitstable’s goal was miles offside, even their people agreed. You are not meant to moan about officials but they cost us four points over the weekend and will probably do so again at the end of the season."
Looking ahead to the final month of the season, Cugley added: "We probably have to win all our remaining games, maybe we can afford to drop one or two points. It’s just pleasing to still be involved.
"We have kept plugging away – only losing two in the last 15 or 16 games – and I am proud and pleased by the efforts of all the players."
Josh Burchell made his 200th appearance for the club on Monday - the fifth player to reach the milestone.
Invicta travel to bottom side Walton Casuals on Saturday, before a trip to Corinthian Casuals next Tuesday.
