Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley has shelved plans to make another signing as the business end of the Ryman League Division 1 South season begins to take shape.

Cugley signed midfielder Matt Newman from Chatham Town a fortnight ago and lodged a seven-day approach for another player at the same time, looking to bolster the numbers at Cheriton Road, ahead of a final push for the play-offs.

He said: "I think I will stick with what we have got now. The player I was tracking is versatile and I might have a look at doing something with him in the summer."

Invicta stayed sixth after a 1-1 draw at Leatherhead on Wednesday night.

Phil Stevenson, back after suspension, earned them a point a quarter of an hour from the end, after former Margate man Tom Bradbrook put the Surrey side ahead 14 minutes earlier.

Reflecting on the rest of the season, Cugley said: "The stand-out fixture is the Easter Monday local home derby against Hythe, a great looking game in front of a big crowd which will help us financially as well.

"I know there are no easy matches but we do seem to have the better-run-in than some of the sides around us. All the other games are against teams in the bottom half of the table."

Invicta are back in Surrey on Saturday, to face Corinthian-Casuals.
