Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley has already begun signing up the majority of his squad ready for another crack at promotion from Ryman League Division 1 South next season.

The dust has barely settled on Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Dulwich in the play-off semi-final, which ended Invicta’s promotion hopes for this season, but Cugley (pictured) has moved quickly to ensure he will have a strong squad again for the next campaign.

He said: "We are 90 per cent there in keeping the squad together, and I have been proud of what the players have done this season.

"We made the play-offs this year and that has to be the minimum requirement now next season. We’ve had a sniff of it and we want to go one better.

"It’s a long-term thing we are doing here. The lads have been brilliant and they have shown they can compete at this level comfortably. We now want to take it to the next level.

"I have been proud of what they have achieved this season."
