Folkestone boss Neil Cugley praised Stuart King after the striker scored in his first start after nearly three months out with injury.
Making his first start for Invicta since undergoing an operation on his arm in September, King (pictured) scored his eighth goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Croydon Athletic.
He could have added to his tally at the Keith Tuckey Stadium after seeing a free-kick come back off the bar and Cugley believes he is already showing signs of his form before the injury.
Cugley said: “He did well on Saturday, having been out for about three months – that’s longer than a pre-season. So for him to have come in and done as well as he has, is all credit to him.
“He scored a good goal, hit the bar and had another chance so could easily have had a hat-trick.
“With us playing in midweek for the next couple of weeks that should get him back up to speed quickly.”
Invicta take on Chipstead at the Buzzlines Stadium on Saturday with both sides looking to make the leap up to the Ryman League, Division 1 South play-off places.
