Folkestone Invicta showed a sign of their future intent with the capture of Darren Marsden on an 18-month contract and with boss Neil Cugley refusing to rule out making further additions to his squad.
The 23-year-old midfielder made his Invicta debut in last Wednesday night's 3-2 win over Maidstone United.
Marsden joined from Kent League side Herne Bay after contacting Cugley last weekend when a move to Margate fell through.
Cugley (pictured) said: "When we had our financial problems three or four years ago, we went down this route of bringing in young players and investing in them and Darren’s signing is part of that.
"He is a quality player with a good engine and is a good passer. Putting him on an 18-month contract shows that it’s not just for this season.
Marsden might not be the last player to arrive at the Buzzlines Stadium. Cugley said: "We will have a look at the situation and see how we feel and if the right player becomes available, then we will consider it but they would have to be a young player."
Invicta travel to Brighton to take on Ryman League, Division 1 South title hopefuls Whitehawk on Saturday.
