Manager Neil Cugley feels Folkestone are paying the price for relying too heavily on Stuart King for their goal output.
Last Saturday’s goalless draw with Corinthian Casuals meant that Invicta have now gone nearly five-and-a-half hours without scoring – since Darren Marsden’s penalty put them 2-0 up at Badshot Lea in the FA Cup on September 8.
King was also on target that day with his eighth goal in seven matches but the striker’s goal spree has dried up in the last three matches and Cugley is concerned that no one else has stepped up the plate.
Cugley (pictured) said: "We are relying on Kingy too much at the moment and teams are going to mark him tight, which should leave other people with a bit more space."
The Folkestone boss, however, can draw consolation from the fact that, with Ryman League Division 1 South pacesetters Crawley Down Gatwick in FA Trophy action on Saturday, Invicta will move level on points with the leaders if they beat Walton Casuals at Cheriton Road.
Casuals lost 3-0 at home to Whitstable last weekend and Cugley said: "Saturday is a chance for us and if you had said to me at the start of the season that we would still be unbeaten in the league come the end of September, I would have been happy.
"So it’s not all gloom and doom but we have got to start winning our home games if we want to stay up there."
Lee Gledhill (bug) and Roland Edge (Achilles injury) both return to the squad this weekend after missing last Saturday’s game.
